I’m Leanne and my husband is Dwight and we’re known as the Farming Folks! We run our homestead on 50 acres with our 3 kids and our dog. After building our own piece of wood art for our living room, I was hooked. Tying together old, neglected wood with a modern flair, turned out to be something others wanted as well, and so Farming Folks Wood Design was born!
I work full-time in the workshop studio, and if Dwight wasn’t working full time in the dairy industry, he would be in carpentry as it’s his second passion behind helping farmers produce the best quality milk. He has always been around tools, and he patiently taught me everything I now know.
We’ve been making wood art pieces for 2 years now, and it’s become a wonderful creative outlet for me. The mitre saw and the scroll saw are my two favourite tools, and those combined with unique wood make the possibilities endless! We try to use reclaimed wood in almost all of our pieces, giving new life to something bound for the landfill.
